I’m doing another original tag! (It’s shocking, I know.) I thought it would be fun to do a book tag full of random bookish questions. These questions range from reading habits to bookmarks, to bookish opinions.
1. Do You Ever Read Books Outside Your Preferred Genres?
I do sometimes if I find a book that sounds interesting.
2. Are There Any Authors You Want To Meet Someday?
I have wanted to meet Ally Carter since I was in high school.
3. How Long Does It Typically Take You To Finish A Book?
It kind of depends on the book and how interested I am in it. Some books like You Can Run, took me only a few hours to finish. Others may take a couple of days or even a week to finish.
4. Do You Have A Favorite Bookmark?
Yes! This one:
Isn’t he cute? I love his bow tie.
5. Which Genre Do You Read The Most?
I tend to read historical fiction the most, but suspense and thrillers are a close second.
6. Where Is The Strangest Place You Ever Read A Book?
A tower on the playground at a park. It was windy, so I didn’t get much read.
7. Do You Hate Deckled Edges?
No, in fact, I actually kind of like them. It gives the book a unique look.
8. Does It Bother You To See Books In Less Than Perfect Condition? (e.g. cracked spines, worn edges, etc.)
Not as long as the book’s not falling apart. If it has a little wear and tear it actually makes it look more loved to me.
However, if a book just hasn’t been taken care of, (pages ripped out, serious water damage, mold), then I won’t buy it.
9. Where Is Your Favorite Place To Read?
On my couch or in a camping chair on my back porch.
10. What Book (or Books) Could You Talk About All The Time?
How much time do you have? Seriously though, there are a whole bunch of books that I could talk about for a long without notes. Here’s just a few.
- The Help by Kathryn Stockett
- Need To Know by Karen Cleveland
- Almost anything by Beverly Cleary
- Dear Mrs. Bird by AJ Pearce
11. What Is Your Reading Goal This Year?
My goal is 50 books. I haven’t read that many book in a year in my entire adult life, so this could be interesting.
12. Name A Popular Book That Was Actually Good.
The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave is one of the best popular books I have ever read. You can check out my review here.
13. What’s A Book That You Will Probably Never Read?
I don’t plan on ever reading anything by Colleen Hoover. I don’t have anything against her, romance just usually isn’t my cup of tea.
14. Do You Buy More New or Used Books?
I buy used books for the most part for a couple of reasons.
- The price.
- It keeps books out of landfills.
- I can can buy more books this way.
I still buy new books every now and again, but I can’t afford to buy brand new books all the time.
15. Are You The Only Reader In Your Family?
Nope. My mom is a reader too!
16. What Is The Strangest Book You’ve Ever Read?
Probably Rebel Spy by Veronica Rossi. I thought I would love it because it’s about a female spy during the Revolutionary War, but I couldn’t make heads or tails of anything the whole book.
17. What Book Surprised You The Most?
Dear Mrs. Bird surprised me in a good way. It was almost perfect from start to finish.
18. Are You Getting Tired Of Reading/Answering Questions Yet?
Nope.
19. You’re Still Here? Great! Have You Ever Had A Conversation With A Stranger About Books?
Many, many, many times. It’s always fun to strike up a conversation with a fellow reader.
20. Name A Character You Can’t Stand.
Hale in the Heist Society. I’m sorry. I love the series, but I could without him.
21. On A Scale Of 1 To 10, How Much Have You Enjoyed This Book Tag?
I’m going to give it a 15.
Final Thoughts
If you enjoyed this book tag and want to do it yourself, feel free to do so. Just remember to mention this post and link back to it.
