She looks better than me in that dress.
Why can’t I ever do this right?
Are they talking about me?
Am I even liked?
We ask ourselves these questions all the time in a search for meaning and recognition. In Confidence Is An Inside Job, Ashley Henriott helps reader overcome those feelings of less-than and find true confidence.
Overview

Having confidence is more complicated than it sounds. From being compared to others to not having the things you think you should, your confidence takes all kinds of hits. But what if you didn’t look for confidence in the things of this world?
What if Confidence Is An Inside Job, accomplished with God’s help?
My Thoughts
I took so many notes while reading this book!
Henriott dives deep into what causes to not have confidence, starting from childhood. She breaks down how different life events, words, and even comparisons can cause us to lose confidence. She take this further by explaining that we will never find true confidence in anything of this world, but only in our Savior.
One of my favorite parts of this book are the tools that she put at the end of each chapter. Consisting of the foundation, (tips for becoming more confident), the tools to help you get there, and the build (verses and other insights as to how God works in your life), these are such an amazing part of the book.
Henriott gives actionable advice that can be implemented even if you don’t have everything figured out. She talks about learning to fight for yourself and advocate for your peace of mind.
One of the most important points throughout the entire is God’s love for us and how even in the times we fail, he is enough. He will always be enough.
