Every reader has things they love and hate in books, and that is what this tag is all about.
NOTE: Some book spoilers ahead!
Name A Fiction Book You Love.
The Help is one of my absolute favorite books ever. It’s funny, it’s sweet, it’s a little sad. But it brings to light the Civil Rights movement through the eyes of three amazing women.
Name A Book That You Wanted To Throw Across The Room.
Code Name Verity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I probably would have thrown it, except it was a library book, and it was 1 in the morning.
And also Paper Towns by John Green.
Name A Trope That You Love Seeing In Books.
I’m really big fan of undefined loyalties in secondary characters. It keeps me on my toes as a reader.
Name A Trope That You Hate Seeing In Books.
Forced romantic relationships. And not believing someone the character is close to when they say that someone hurt them.
What Genres Do You Love?
Thriller, Suspense, Historical Fiction, and Non Fiction.
What Genres Do You Hate?
I’m not much a of a romance reader, so it’s not a genre that I tend to pick up.
Name An Author That You Would Read Pretty Much Anything They Write.
Ally Carter and Ruta Sepetys. Both of these women are incredible storytellers.
Name An Author You Will Never Read Their Work.
This might make me unpopular, but I will not read anything by James Patterson or Stephen King.
Name A Book Character That You Would Be Friends With.
Well as I mentioned above I love the women of The Help, and would be friends with all three of the main characters. I would also be friends with Cammie Morgan from the Gallagher Girls series.
Name A Book Character You Would Be Mortal Enemies With.
Ugh. Too many to choose from.
Name A Book That You Didn’t Think You’d Like, But Ended Up Loving.
Verify by Joelle Charbonneau. I’m not a big fan of books about dystopias disguised as utopias, but holy cow! This book is absolutely fantastic.
Name A Book That You Thought You’d Love, But Ended Up Hating.
Passenger by Alexandra Bracken. I thought this book would be four or five stars, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea.
The plot was slow and it didn’t feel as exciting as I thought a time-travel adventure would be.
