📚Book Review: Things We Didn't Say by Amy Lynn Gre 📚Book Review: Things We Didn't Say by Amy Lynn Green

When a camp for German POWs is established in her hometown of Ironside Lake, Minnesota, linguistics student Johanna Berglund reluctantly take a position there.

Employed as a censor and translator, her work takes her closer to the POWs than anyone is comfortable with. And the longer the POWs are in town, the more accusations and suspicions fly.

As Johanna becomes more acquainted with those in the camp, lines begin to blur and her loyalties are brought into question.

I enjoyed the story, but I didn't love the epistolary format. I would have liked it more if it were told in a more traditional format with letters scattered throughout.

Overall, it's a fascinating tribute to those who served on the home front during World War II.

What movie was better than the book? This is kind What movie was better than the book?

This is kind of a controversial topic, but sometimes the book isn't better than the movie.

What book/movie combo is like this for you?

Mine is The Princess Diaries. (Slight spoilers ahead!) I didn't hate the book, but I didn't like how mean Clarisse was to Mia. Julie Andrews' Clarisse was much better in my opinion.

Book Review: I Want To Trust You, But I Don't In Book Review: I Want To Trust You, But I Don't

In her latest book, @lysaterkeurst breaks down trust or lack of it after a traumatic breaking of trust. She walks the reader through how and why trauma can have such a serious effect on our ability to function, and trust that we won't get hurt again.

Her take on restoring our faith and trust in God, as well the people we love, is exactly the kind of thought-provoking self-help I have come to admire from her.

The honesty of this book is what makes it such a great read. It's not full of toxic positivity or a "get over it" attitude. Instead it's a story of realizing that trust is hard, but our Creator will never let us down.

Make sure have a box tissues for this one.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Um... No. Not everyone wants to read that. I am n Um... No. Not everyone wants to read that.
I am not really a romance reader, but I've seen spice popping up in other genres such as historical fiction and mystery.

While some people seem to really enjoy explicit fiction, myself and other members of the book community do not.

I read clean books because not only am I not interested in spicy scenes, but I don't think that God appreciates us filling our minds with them.
Let's promote some clean authors in the comments and help other find some good clean fiction.
