The library is one of my favorite places in the whole world. When I was a kid, my mom would take us once a week and we would come home with armfuls of library books. Even as an adult, I love going to the library, which inspired me to create this tag.
How Often Do You Go To The Library?
I usually go to the library once a week. All though, I have been known to go a couple times a week.
How Many Library Cards Do You Have?
I actually have several, but I only actively use one because it is for a large library system with several million books.
My dream is to one day get a card for the Library of Congress and then check out a bunch of books.
How Big Was Your Last Library Book Haul?
I checked out 13 books on my last trip. Several of them were requests the library had put on hold for me.
What Is The Coolest Thing A Librarian Has Ever Done For You?
I once asked librarian for book suggestions and she told me to give her some time and she would think about which books to recommend. I went back the next week and she handed me a handwritten list with about 30-40 books on it. She then proceeded to give me information on the books and what she thought of them.
What Topics Do You Wish You Your Library Had More Books About?
My local library is actually pretty well stocked, but there’s always room to grow. I would love to see more hidden gem kind of books that aren’t super famous.
Do Ever Participate In Library Events?
No. I probably should, but most of the time they’re on days I already have plans.
If You Were In Charge Of Acquiring Books For Your Local Library, What Would Be The First Book You Would Buy?
Actually, it would be a set of books. I would buy all of the Baby Blues comics by Rick Kirkman and Jerry Scott. The books are collections of their daily newspaper comic strips about parenthood and family life, and they are hilarious.
What Does Your Library Do With Old Books?
My library has a small used bookstore inside that sells old library books as well as donated books. They also host a yearly book sale.
I tend buy a lot of my books from the library bookstore because they are cheaper than a regular bookstore. Plus, their selection is usually very good.
If You Could Change One Thing About Your Library, What Would It Be?
I would expend the library hours so that we could hold “Library at Night” events. I think it would be so much fun to do a book scavenger hunt in the library.

And if you haven’t been to the library in awhile, go check it out.

I just joined the library here in town 3 weeks ago. I typically like to buy the physical copy…. but I got to thinking, why buy it I won’t ever read it again… so I took my daughter to the library as an opportunity for us to spend time together, encourage her to read, and also find a few good books for myself.

I used to love going to my local library but they closed a lot of them down! It was always such a good place to go as a child as well as when I was an adult!

I’ve always loved to hang out in the library when I was still in school. It’s been a while. This post is so nostalgic. I can’t wait for the completion of our new library, I will definitely go there.

My mother used to take my brother and me, as children, to the local library on a regular basis. I continued on into adulthood however my brother has not stepped foot into a library since childhood. Interesting…. I must say, however, that I have started borrowing digitally online from the library more and more in the past couple of years. I am actually studying for my Masters at the moment but can’t study at the Library because there is too much noise and distractions. I do, however, still love libraries. Thanks for sharing!
